Breast Cancer Campaign has launched its ‘Spread the word’ campaign to highlight that there are still too many people dying from breast cancer in the UK.
Huw Irranca-Davies MP has been getting behind the campaign. He said:
“There’s been incredible progress towards beating breast cancer over the past 20 years but thousands of people across the UK are living with a diagnosis of secondary breast cancer – when cancer has spread from the breast to other parts of the body – for which there is no cure. I am therefore supporting Breast Cancer Campaign’s ‘Spread the word’ campaign, to take action for all those affected by breast cancer both locally and across the country.”
Over 50,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year, and in the Bridgend area which includes my constituency of Ogmore, the figure is 129 people per 100,000, of those 27 will sadly die from the disease every year. We must act to beat cancer once and for all.”
