Ogmore MP Huw Irranca-Davies has congratulated the staff, governors and pupils of Maesteg Comprehensive after a glowing report.
Estyn inspectors presented the 1,095 pupil school with an overall rating of “excellent” and “good” ratings in both the key criteria of current school performance and prospects for improvements. This news follows last month’s Welsh Government school banding results; in which Maesteg comprehensive was lifted into band two and was scored as the second best school in the borough.
All assessment criteria that the Estyn inspectors looked at including; teaching standards, learning experience and leadership were judged as either “good” or “excellent”. The care and support offered to individual pupils by staff was singled out for specific praise.
Huw said “This glowing inspection report by Estyn proves that the continued work by all the pupils, governors, parents and staff at Maesteg Comprehensive is delivering results. Everyone at the school should be incredibly proud of their achievement”
