The event was organised by the Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) and Job Centre Plus. It brought together a host of local companies to discuss with residents employment vacancies and volunteer opportunities that were open to them, including temporary and permanent openings.
At the event, agencies gave advice on training and assistance which is available to help people get residents back into work. Additionally officers from the council’s HR department were on hand to provide any details of the vacancies that existed within the local authority.
The Deputy Leader of BCBC Cllr David Sage, said:
“This will be the fifth jobs and information event that we have organised at this venue, but the first to be held since the former Rec was rechristened as Bridgend Life Centre. The event always draws a strong response and support from employers and training providers and this year we will have around 30 stands featuring local organisations and businesses. By working together with Job Centre Plus in such close partnership we are pleased to help provide local job seekers with expert advice and support that will help them find work, improve their quality of life and boost the local economy.”
