Huw and Chris with Joanna Bayliss of ‘Fresh and Fruity’
Local small businesses received a boost over the past few weeks as Ogmore MP, Chris Elmore, and AM, Huw Irranca-Davies, helped promote some brilliant examples of entrepreneurship.
In the run-up to the annual Small Business Saturday, this year held on Saturday 2nd December, the local politicians asked independent retailers, micro-businesses and local business people to get in touch with details about their success story.
The pair then set about promoting these outlets by sharing their details through their social media feeds.
Mr Elmore said: “Small businesses are vitally important for our local economies and help to maintain a positive community spirit. It’s been so positive to learn more about some truly excellent examples of commerce across Ogmore.”
Mr Elmore and Mr Irranca-Davies also visited “Fresh and Fruity” in Gilfach Goch which started with a cash injection of only £200 and is now a thriving business.
Mr Irranca-Davies commented: “I’m always amazed by the level of talent we have across the constituency. It’s been great to be able to bang the drum for local businessmen and women over the past few weeks. Chris and I will continue to support small businesses in any way we can in the future.”
