Huw visited the ‘Community Furniture Aid’ unit based in Pontycymmer and thanked them for their continuing fantastic work.
The growing registered charity, run by a small dedicated team of volunteers helps to furnish homes for people on the lowest income within our community. It works closely with organizations like the Salvation Army, Flying Start, Social Service and other agencies whose aim is to provide a helping hand to those most in need.
Lending his supporter to the volunteers of Community Furniture Aid, Huw said: “It’s always great to meet with Marianne and team who work so hard in giving their time and effort to provide a comfortable home for those who cannot afford to buy essential items that many of us take for granted. It is heartening to know this support is available for people during difficult times, and recognition should also be given to the general public whose donations allow this essential service to continue”.
Community Furniture Aid are always on the look-out for donations of decent condition furniture, bedding and household essentials. Right now, they desperately need pots and pans and kitchen items so please get in touch.
