During a recent Barnardo’s themed ‘Fun Day’ held at the YMCA in Bridgend, Huw joined in the fun and games which highlighted the importance of personal safety, including travel and Internet safety.
Barnardo’s Cymru workshop, in partnership with Interplay, focuses on a different life skill each week where the teams offer support solutions to families of children and young people with additional needs. Specific needs of the family are assessed via home visits before a plan is agreed offering support in a variety of ways which can range from access to holiday play schemes and out of school activities to parenting support.
Huw happily joined in with the activities on the day and commented “Barnardo’s Cymru support is a valuable resource and life-line to many families who struggle with day-to-day life. There are now sessions being held in Pencoed on Saturdays which are a fun and safe way for children and young people to be involved in activities that they may not necessarily have the chance to experience in everyday life. I would encourage people to look into the benefits that Barnardo’s Cymru offer whether it be for advice and guidance or signposting to other services”.
