Llanharan’s annual Easter Bonnet Parade held at Llanharan Rugby Club displayed some spectacular designs of bonnets.
Ogmore Assembly Member and Welsh Government Minister Huw Irranca-Davies who was one of the judges was joined by local residents, school children of Dolau Primary School and Llaharan’s OAP Association amongst others.
Mr Irranca-Davies stated: “I was delighted to join everyone at the annual Easter Bonnet Parade. Judging the bonnets is definitely the most tricky part of an AMs job! But thanks to everyone, not just the more senior hat designers but also the children and staff of Dolau school who put in such a special appearance. Gill Richards and her team should be commended for pulling off yet another very successful and enjoyable event. Well done to everyone involved.”
Local Councillor and RCT Cabinet Member Geraint Hopkins who was also at the event stated: ““As always, it was great to be involved in this wonderful event, and once again the local community came together to make it a huge success. The time and dedication that participants are willing to contribute is fantastically astounding. I want to give my personal thanks to all those involved – participants, organisers and spectators – for continuing in making this event so special. The event really highlights how the people here in Llanharan work together to make sure the community remains vibrant and welcoming.”
