As a big supporter and regular visitor to Men’s Sheds now seen across Ogmore, Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies was invited to visit the new Cwm Ogwr Men’s Shed in Ogmore Vale.
Again starting from humble beginnings, the newest addition of Men’s Sheds in Ogmore shows positive signs of success much seen in their neighbouring partner sheds.
The new Shedders welcomed the Ogmore AM to their group with a tour of their venue and spent the afternoon chatting to Huw about their work and future plans.
Speaking after the visit Mr Irranca-Davies said: “Men’s Sheds are becoming a much loved and valuable service in our communities helping to combat social isolation and raising awareness of mental health. No two Sheds are the same and they can also provide a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending.
I am proud to see our five thriving Sheds in Ogmore and am always pleased to hear when another Shed pops up. My thanks to Andrew and the crew in Cwm Ogwr for their warm welcome and for a very enjoyable fun afternoon.”
