An Open Day event held at Caerau Development Trust, home of Caerau Men’s Shed, welcomed people to meet Shed members and to view their displays of art, photography and woodwork.
The popular community group aims to promote men’s health and wellbeing through social interaction and practical activity allowing members to share their wealth of skills and knowledge with each other whilst making new friends.
This has often resulted in the group producing wonderful creations which can be sold with the proceeds going towards the running of their Men’s Shed.
Many local residents and supporters attended the event along with Ogmore Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies – also a big supporter of the Men’s Shed Movement and a regular visitor to the various Sheds seen across Ogmore.
The Ogmore AM said: “I always enjoy visiting our Men’s Sheds in Ogmore and to hear about the positive impacts they are having on our local communities.
Working alongside the Caerau Development Trust, their work has seen them branching out to help local schools, churches and similar projects.
The Caerau Men’s Shed is going from strength to strength and they always provide a warm welcome to anyone who wants to visit them. Look out for their great annual calendar too!
