Bridgend Business Community Celebrated at Awards Ceremony

 Bridgend Business of the Year 2018 – Apollo Teaching Services

At a recent gala dinner and awards ceremony held at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel in Bridgend, the Bridgend Business Forum celebrated the local business community at this year’s Bridgend Business Forum Awards.

Over 220 business professionals attended the awards ceremony including Carwyn Jones AM for Bridgend (also Patron of the Bridgend Business Forum) and Ogmore Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies. Applications for awards were received from across the Bridgend and Ogmore constituencies.

Sponsored by Rockwool UK and supported by Bridgend County Borough Council, the sixth annual Bridgend Business Awards event celebrated achievements of local businesses and showcased entrepreneurship in the local area. BBC presenter and broadcaster Sian Lloyd hosted the awards which saw 9 winners in a range of categories from ‘Business Student of the Year’ to the ‘Creative Industries Award’.Winners of the overall award for ‘Bridgend Business of the Year 2018’, Apollo Teaching Services also won the ‘Innovative Business of the Year’ award. The winners in the other categories were:

  • ‘Start-up Business of the Year’ – Team 8 Digital Ltd
  • ‘Service Business of the Year’ – A & R Contract Cleaning Specialists Ltd
  • ‘Manufacturing Business of the Year’ – Engineering Services Ltd
  • ‘Bridgend Tourism Business of the Year’ – Porthcawl Bike Hire
  • ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ – Linda Wongham, Assisted Mobility Services
  • ‘Creative Industries Award’ – Wales Interactive Ltd
  • ‘Professional Service Business of the Year’ – TSW Training Ltd
  • Patron’s Commendation Award – Ford Engine Plant, Bridgend
