Ogmore Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies met with the national charity Shaw Trust Cymru to hear how they are helping people of all abilities and backgrounds to gain skills, find work and gain greater independence in the workplace.
Across Wales, SHAW Trust Cymru delivers the government’s specialist employment programme Work Choice, a provision for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. It enables people to find and retain work through personalised support.
Following the visit Huw Irranca-Davies AM stated: “The Trust has helped almost three thousand people throughout Wales into long-term employment. Working closely with local and national employers they aim to see a greater provision of disability friendly employers and work environments. It was great to hear about the progress they are making and the work they do trying to help people live independent and inclusive lives.
