A Purrfect Welcome at Bryncethin’s Cat Protection Centre

The staff, volunteers and feline members of Bryncethin’s cat sanctuary provided a warm welcome to Welsh Government Minister Lesley Griffiths AM and Huw Irranca-Davies AM during a recent visit to the Adoption Centre.

Following a tour of the ever-expanding venue, and after meeting many of the extremely well-behaved felines, the group had an opportunity to chat to the staff and volunteers and hear about the great work they do at the centre.

Centre Manager Sue Dobbs also updated the group on current animal welfare campaigns such as, ‘compulsory microchipping’, ‘purrfect landlord’, ‘licensing of air guns and neutering’ to name a few. Campaigns that provide a platform for animal sanctuaries and welfare charities to highlight ongoing animal welfare concerns that they come across every day in their work. Following the visit, Ogmore Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies who is already a proud owner of two re-homed cats from the Centre said: “It was a pleasure to join the Minister on her visit to the Centre and catch up with the staff and volunteers who do such wonderful work.

The success of this top class ‘homing centre’ is a testament to the dedication and commitment of Sue and her team. Meeting Simba, an extremely well-behaved and playful ginger kitten, was also a treat as she snuggled and made friends with us all.”
